The London Rolling Film Festival is an independent, self founded festival and every year we do our best to offer filmmakers a platform and a space where to grow their connections and show their film to a partecipative audience.
To celebrate the 10th edition we planned to take a selection of short films on a world tour we have been tirelessly and passionately working for.
Nothing could have stopped us from bringing this dream to life, except the global lock down and uncertainty that the outbreak of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) is causing.
Instead of cancelling the X Tour, we have decided to adapt and use our resources as best as we can.
The Judges of each town we were supposed to travel to, will watch the films on FilmFreeway and all together will vote for 10 categories (instead of just Best Film):
Best Short Film: Solitude (by Michael Raso)
Best Director: Kelvin DeSena (Ruck it)
Best Actor/Actress: Maggie Blinco (Solitude)
Best Music Score: Solitude (by Michael Raso)
Best Screenplay: Solitude (by Michael Raso)
Best Cinematography: Patron (by Emily Haigh and Alon Young)
Best Production Design: Song Sparrow (by Farzaneh Omidvarnia)
Best Make up and Hairstyling: Life(Y) (by Cristobal Catalan)
Best Costume Design: The Glove (by Luisa Pretolani)
Best Casting: Kaleidoscope (by Nicole Pott)
We are also working on organising a special screening in London, where all the movies can be celebrated and the winners will be announced. The date will be announced once the Covid-19 emergency will be solved.
We believe this to be a good compromise given the situation that otherwise would have forced us to cancel completely the “X Tour” Award.
